Five Guys applies for alcohol licence for new drive thru

Five Guys has applied for an alcohol licence for its new drive thru at Leamington Shopping Park.
Work on the new fast food eatery is underway, although an opening date for the new unit is still yet to be confirmed.
If approved, the licence would allow Five Guys to serve alcohol for consumption on and off site from 10am to 2pm, seven days per week.
It would also allow the company permission for 'late night refreshment' from 11pm to 2pm, seven days per week.
"A CCTV system with recording equipment shall be installed, operated and maintained at the premises (unforeseen faults excepted)," the application explained.
"Images will be retained for a minimum of 28 days and supplied to a police officer upon reasonable request subject to the Data Protection Act 1998.
"Members of staff authorised to sell alcohol shall receive training on the law with regard to alcohol sales (including the prohibition of sale of alcohol to those who are under age and those who are drunk).
"The premises will operate a "Challenge 25" proof of age scheme whereby any person attempting to buy alcohol who appears to be under 25 will be asked for photographic ID to prove their age."
The application also says the 'normal opening hours' would be from 7am to 2.30am, seven days per week.
The application comes weeks after KFC opened its new drive thru next door.
Of the opening date, the Five Guys' website simply says: "Keep your eyes peeled for the official opening date, we look forward to welcoming you soon."
Locals have until September 2 to comment on the application.
