A family-run travel business is helping people turn their dream holidays into reality, without the stress that so often comes with planning them.

Founded by local couple, Craig and Amber Land, Land & Sea Escapes is a relatively new venture, built on a lifelong love of travel and a desire to make meaningful experiences accessible to others. 

Speaking to Nub News, the couple shared: "We both work full-time, so Land & Sea Escapes is our part-time family business. 

"We wanted to create something we could grow together, without sacrificing family life."

The idea for Land & Sea Escapes came during a period of change. 

After returning to work from maternity leave, the couple began looking for a way to introduce something meaningful into their work, while still maintaining their main income. 

As travel lovers, what better way than helping others get out and see the world?

"We absolutely love exploring new countries," explained Amber and Craig.

"We realised, if we enjoy researching and planning trips so much, why not help others do the same?"

Removing the stress from travel planning

While many people love the idea of travelling, the planning can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to choosing destinations, finding flights, deciding where to stay, and understanding the best areas to visit.

Amber explained: "That's the part we really wanted to take away for people. Searching through endless pages, trying to connect the dots can be tedious. Some companies don't make it easy."

Land & Sea Escapes focuses on tailor-made travel, offering personalised recommendations based on what each client is looking for, whether that's a warm beach escape, a cold-weather adventure, a hiking holiday, or something completely out of the ordinary.

Craig and Amber shared: "People can come to us and say, 'I don't know where I want to go, can you recommend something?' And we'll do the hard work for them. The aim is to build trust, not just as a brand, but as real people who care about creating the best possible experience. We want people to feel confident that we're doing what we'd want done for ourselves."

Exploring culture and meaningful experiences

While Land & Sea Escapes caters for all types of travel, including traditional summer holidays , the team are particularly passionate about adventure-led and cultural experiences.

"That's where we get most excited," they said.

"Multi-destination trips like Vietnam and Cambodia, or places with mountains, scenery, and truly impressive to discover."

For Craig and Amber, travel is about more than just a break, it's about returning home with memories that last a lifetime.

Craig shared: "We want people to go and see places, enjoy them, and create incredible memories together as a family."

When asked about their own favourite travel destinations the pair agreed on Japan, due to its "incredible culture."

Inspiring adventure

A big part of Land & Sea Escapes' mission is inspiration. 

Through their social media platforms, they share destinations, ideas, and what they call their 'Wanderlist weekend' including places they've visited and those still on their wish list.

"It's about helping people think, 'I could go there,'" they couple said. "That spark of inspiration is really important to us."

As Land & Sea Escapes continues to grow, Craig and Amber's focus remains clear: a personalised service, meaningful travel, and helping people discover destinations they may never have considered.

Although Land & Sea Escapes currently only operates online, the couple have hopes to open a physical site in Warwick, which is an important focus for the business. 

Craig emphasised that, in Warwick especially, many people still value speaking to someone directly and having a real conversation about what they want from a holiday.

"One of the reasons we're focusing on Warwick is that people like that personal touch," he said.

Thus, the business offers flexible ways to get in touch, from over social media, talking over a coffee, email, phone calls and even video chats, depending on what clients prefer..
