Warwick residents have been told not to be alarmed as dozens of emergency services plan to descend on the town's castle tomorrow (January 20).

On Wednesday, Warwick Castle will be taking part in a live training exercise as part of its regular incident planning and prevention.

The castle - which is closed to the public from January 8 to 20 - says it has "taken steps" to make sure training does not negatively impact the local area.

"This training will be carried out in collaboration with the local emergency services, so please do not be alarmed by fire engines, ambulances, or other modern-day knights in shining armour entering and exiting castle grounds throughout the day," a post on social media said.

"This event is a crucial component of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety of our staff and guests."

Warwickshire Police added: "We're taking part in a major incident training exercise at Warwick Castle tomorrow. There will be a lot of emergency vehicles there, please don't be alarmed."
