'Dragon Slayer' will return to Warwick Castle this August with a new "fully immersive" format.

Combining a state-of-the-art projection mapping light show, horses, stunts, in-audience actors and a fireworks display, Dragon Slayer brings the story of Guy of Warwick.

The show was last held in 2019 in a purpose-built arena on the river island but it will now move to another arena in the courtyard.

Dragon Slayer will be performed in the round with audiences sat in tiered seating.

With a gangway through the middle, as well between the blocks of seats, and in-audience characters, it will bring visitors closer to the action happening all around them.

The show will run from August 12 to August 21 and will feature battles with giants, fights with the Dun Cow and a fifty-foot-tall fire breathing dragon as well as the light projections.

Nick Blofeld, divisional director at Warwick Castle, said: "We can't wait to welcome guests to experience Volume Two of Dragon Slayer.

"This has always been a hugely popular show for us, but we have taken it to the next level as it returns for the first time since the pandemic.

"This year, we're bringing guests together seated in the castle courtyard so that they can witness the gripping action happening around and feel closer than ever, so it really does feel like a new show. I'm sure they'll all be truly amazed by Dragon Slayer."

Evening tickets cost from £19 per person and entry is from 6:30pm.

There will be a 45-minute interval, with the show due to end at around 10pm.
