Residents will be kept waiting on whether plans to turn a former Warwick car showroom into two new shops are approved.

Warwick District Council's planning committee was due to discuss the application for the former Kia Showroom on Stratford Road tonight (April 15), but the plans have now been pulled from the agenda.

A notice on the council website simply said: "This item has been withdrawn from the agenda pending further consultations and clarification."

A council report had recommended Warwickshire Partnership's planning application be refused, saying there would not be enough parking on site.

"The proposal would provide insufficient parking which fails to comply with the council's adopted parking standards," the report said.

"Therefore, it is recommended that planning permission is refused."

Multiple objections had been made to the application, which would have seen a 'top-up' food shop created and a smaller unit for a hairdressers, funeral director or salon.

The council has not said when the decision will be made.
