A couple on a pub crawl mission around the country have shouted out the "beautiful old pubs" Warwick has to offer.

Dale and Holly Harvey of The Great British Pub Crawl, visited Warwick over the bank holiday weekend at the end of May and said they met some "lovely people" on their tour of the town.

The Nottingham couple's aim is to visit every single English pub, a venture that has taken them to over 3,000 venues across 814 days so far.

The couple kicked off their evening with drinks at The Antelope which they described as "quaint" and "welcoming".

They then headed to The Black Horse Inn, describing it as "another sweet little pub in a L-shape with plenty of screens throughout the pub and lovely fish tank feature".

Of the King's Head, they said: "A couple of big screens in the bar area and a couple of nice, friendly young ladies on the bar.

"Good age mix of customers in, landlord on the hand pull and a few tap choices... they were having major issues with their 'Carling' pump not pulling right whilst we were there, which I would think is a bonus as it made people order something decent instead... but a few chaps didn't seem too happy about that!

"There is also a brilliant garden space to the rear of this lovely little pub!"

Dale and Holly then moved onto The Globe before stopping at the "amazing" Eagle.

"A tiny little pub in a little cave like arch space," they said.

"The landlady is absolutely lovely and the beer choices in here are BRILLIANT (including a Vault City Sour on tap and Delirium Red in a bottle haha)

"This is one of those quirky little places that we love finding and its just an absolutely super little place all round."

They then followed up with drinks at The Rose & Crown, The Thomas Lloyd and the Tilted Wig - pubs 3,192, 3,192 and 3,193 on the trail respectively.

The couple then headed to the Old Coffee Tavern before reaching the "amazing" craftsmen. "what a beer board and what a great little place it is," they wrote.

Ronnie's, The Guy of Warwick, The Old Post Office and the Castle Inn were all then ticked off and given the thumbs up.

Dale and Holly then rounded things off at the "magnificent" Fourpenny Shop Hotel before a final stop at a pub they chose not to name but said was "more aimed at 'ladz ladz ladz' than is in keeping with the rest of the town".

Of the town as a whole they said: "Well... Warwick certainly has some absolutely beautiful old pubs and places to visit and everything is pretty much walkable within the town centre part itself.

"There was plenty of craft beer to keep me happy and some lovely people along the way.

"It didn't feel like a 'late town' though, so don't be headed there expecting a 4am finish but if you want a beautiful little town and some great beers then this is definitely one to consider!"
