Council unanimously endorses new Mayor Elect of Warwick

Warwick Town Council has voted unanimously for Cllr Simon Pargeter to become the Mayor Elect of Warwick.
The vote took place on Thursday 26 March 2026
Cllr Pargeter will formally become Mayor of Warwick on Thursday 21 May 2026 at the Mayor Making Ceremony.
On being elected Cllr Pargeter shared: "I am truly honoured and privileged to have been elected as Mayor Elect by my fellow Warwick Town Councillors. I look forward to representing and supporting our residents, local charities and businesses, helping to maintain and nurture the vibrancy and diversity that makes Warwick so special.
"During my Civic year I want to promote strengthening relationships across our community to bring people together, ensuring all generations in Warwick continue to thrive. By working together, supporting one another, and building strong community networks, we can continue to overcome challenges and grow."
The Council also voted in Cllr Paul Wightman as Deputy Mayor Elect, meaning that he will take the role of Deputy Mayor of Warwick on 21 May 2026
The Mayor making ceremony in May will be held at the Collegiate Church of St. Mary's in Old Square, Warwick at 6.30pm and is open to the public, who are all welcome to attend.
