Council approves plans for double yellow lines for Warwick road following 'multiple' complaints
More double yellow lines will be painted on a residential road in Warwick after plans were signed off by the county council.
The portfolio holder for transport and planning approved the works for Woodloes Avenue South on Friday (April 28).
A Warwickshire County Council report said the local authority had received "multiple" complaints from locals about "obstructive parking" on the street.
The project will see double yellow lines painted at the junctions along Woodloes Avenue South between Primrose Hill and Kettlewell Close.
The council said it consulted locals last summer, although only one response was received.
That resident said the lines should be extended further between Smythe Grove and Kilsney Grove.
But the report said this would not be possible, explaining: "These restrictions were proposed to direct parked cars away from the junctions where it would be considered dangerous.
"Further restrictions have the potential to push additional vehicles into the more residential areas."
It added: "It is anticipated that the presence of waiting restrictions would not have a significant adverse effect on air quality, with no predicted increase in traffic volumes or noise levels as a result of the schemes."
Some of the responses to the council's consultation said the double yellow lines will "not solve anything".
WCC approved schemes for six different roads, including in Leamington Spa and Kenilworth.
