A closed Warwick shop and the flat above it could be turned into a four-bedroom house in multiple occupation (HMO), if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.

Avisaar Ltd has applied for planning permission to change the former Black & White Stores building on Peel Road.

The application shows a single-storey extension would also be built at the back of the building, and the former shop front would be removed.

A new communal kitchen and living space would be created on the ground floor, as well as the four new bedrooms.

"The proposed development represents a logical and sustainable reuse of the existing building, building upon an established planning permission," the application said.

In a holding objection, Warwick Town Council asked for clarity on the number of rooms to be provided, as the application form said the plans were for five, whereas other documents said four.

A previous application to turn the building into two flats was approved by the council in June 2019.
