Celebrity chef Glynn Purnell is set to open his new pub in Henley-in-Arden later this month.

Mount Pub by Glynn Purnell will open in a 200-year-old building on High Street, adding to the chef's Michelin Star restaurant Purnell's in Birmingham.

Formerly know as the Butchers Social, the new venture in Henley will serve modern British food and the menu is now available on the pub's website.

Purnell, who regularly appears on Saturday Kitchen, is a former employee of Andreas Antona, owner of The Cross in Kenilworth.

Whilst this is his first business venture in Warwickshire, Purnell has already been very active in the local food scene having been a judge at the inaugural Foodie Awards cook-off in 2021.

He also has plans to open a restaurant in Coventry next year.

Speaking to The Caterer Purnell said: "I am thrilled and proud to be part of what is unquestionably going to be an amazing venue.

"Bringing the Purnell's brand to Henley-in-Arden, one of the prettiest towns in England, is very exciting.

"It is a massive opportunity to bring such a strong food brand into Warwickshire. My award-winning team and I will bring a stunning pub which will serve some amazing dishes.

"There will be some recognisable pub dishes on the menu – all with an added sprinkle of Purnell's magic. The food will be tasty, hearty and will put a smile on people's faces."
