UPDATE: Man arrested for driving under influence of drugs after car crashes into Warwick flats

A 26-year-old man from Warwick was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and driving under the influence of drugs after a car crashed into a block of flats yesterday.

Photos show the damage left behind after the ford hit a block of flats at Campriano Drive at around 1pm on Sunday (September 22).

Eye witnesses said the car came down Nelson Lane and Wharf Street before mounting the pavement and going through the railings in front of the homes.

"At 13.07 we received reports that a car had collided with a house in Campriano Drive, Warwick," a Warwickshire Police statement said.

"Officers attended and suspected class A and class B drugs from the car.

"A 26-year-old man from Warwick was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and driving under the influence of drugs.

"He remains in custody.

"Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision can go to Something you've seen or heard | Warwickshire Police or call 101 quoting the incident number.

"Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Photographs also show cracks along the walls of the flats.
