Plans to remove signs and two ATM's from a bank in Warwick have been put forward to the council.

Lloyds on Swan Street is winding down to closing, as the bank shuts branches across the country.

The Warwick branch will shut on 24 June 2025, as the bank axes 45 sites nationwide.

But Lloyds has now applied for listed building consent to remove the ATM's and signage.

An application to Warwick District Council explained: "This branch of Lloyds Bank in Warwick is to close.

"As a result, the external signage and two external ATMs are to be removed.

"The extent of the proposed alterations is very limited and therefore the extent of this design and access statement is similarly limited."

The future of the unit is not yet known, and any change of use would be subject to a separate planning application.

If approved, the application will also see a temporary white obscure film.

Warwick could receive a banking hub when Lloyds closes.

LINK, the UK's cash access and ATM network, has announced it is recommending a banking hub open in the town.

Banking hubs are a shared banking space, similar to a traditional bank branch, but available to everyone.

The hub will consist of a counter service operated by Post Office employees, where customers of any bank can withdraw and deposit cash, make bill payments and carry out regular banking transactions.

The application asked for permission to "repaint the timber fascia to match the shopfront.

"The hanging projecting sign and lights are to be removed.

"The bracket is to remain for possible future use, to minimise disturbance to the historic fabric.

"The security camera is to be removed.
