The Butts in Warwick is closed today (October 14) for Severn Trent works following a "significant water leak".

The busy road will be shut until Wednesday 16 October - according to the Warwickshire County Council website.

The closure - at the junction with Jury Street - is for "utility repair and maintenance works".

The footpath remains open and the closure will be in place 24/7.

A council statement said: "The Butts, Warwick has been closed temporarily to allow Severn Trent Water to carry out urgent repair work due to a significant water leak.

"We will be monitoring the site to ensure works are carried out as soon as possible but please be advised there will be significant delays at peak times in Warwick until this work is completed."
