Warwick will be on the TV this December as the BBC's Christmas Eve Midnight Mass will be broadcast live from St Mary's Church.

Months after the major renovation project was finished at the landmark church, the TV cameras will be set up for an evening of hymns and prayer.

The BBC One broadcast will start at 11.40pm on Tuesday (December 24) and last one hour and 15 minutes.

The BBC TV Guide says the broadcast will include: "The traditional Christmas Eve service and blessing of the crib live from the Collegiate Church of St Mary's, Warwick.

"The service is introduced and led by the rector of St Mary's, the Rev Canon Angus Aagaard, with a sermon from the Rt Rev Martin Gordon, bishop of Goma, who is visiting from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

"Director of music Oliver Hancock leads the St Mary's Choir.

"Music includes the well-loved carols Once in Royal David's City, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and O Come All Ye Faithful."
