An incredible new sale offers the chance to own an iconic British car brand.

Car fan bidders will have the opportunity to buy Austin Rover Ltd. at an auction this month - and build their own new model.

Austin Rover, which was based at Longbridge, was responsible for a number of well-known models including the Maestro, Allegro, and Montego.

Ashow-based Iconic Auctioneers said: "This is an incredible opportunity to own the sole rights to Austin Rover Ltd. company Name, Company Registration Number, email address plus a vast amount of original factory drawings for the Metro 6R4."

The auctioneers also said the company name and email address were purchased by the anonymous current long-term owner, directly from the administrator PWC when MG Rover Group went into administration in the mid 2000's.

Nigel Gough, Automobilia Specialist at Iconic Auctioneers commented: "This is a unique opportunity for someone to own a piece of British motoring history and possibly do something exciting with the brand.

"We recommend that any interested buyer comes to view Lot 254A in person to fully understand what is included."

Famously, Princess Diana was photographed getting into her 1980 Austin Mini Metro L, when she was still Lady Diana Spencer.

Offered with no reserve, the unique lot will be offered at Supercar Fest in Northants on 18 May.
