Application submitted for works at Warwick pub currently closed for 'extensive refurbishment'
By James Smith 10th Mar 2026
A planning application for major refurbishment works at a Warwick pub has been submitted to Warwick District Council.
The Globe on Theatre Street closed earlier this year for the major makeover, and is due to reopen in June.
And now an application for various works at the grade II listed building has been submitted by hospitality firm Brunning and Price.
It said: "In the main, the proposed internal and external alterations generally avoid works to the historic parts of this listed building and instead mainly concern works within the recent extensions to this building."
Works include removing and replacing a modern stud wall in the kitchen, a new fireplace, two new windows in the extension, new doors, a new private dining room, a new pergola, new planting beds and stone paving.
The application continued: "The application proposals would ensure the continued maintenance and upkeep of this listed building for its historic continued use; a use which is also publicly accessible and an appropriate town centre use.
"There are therefore significant public benefits arising from these proposals."
