The A46 has reopened southbound near Stratford-upon-Avon following a "large hydraulic fluid spill".

The road was closed in the early hours of this morning (March 14) between A439 (Marraway Roundabout) and the A3400 (Stratford-upon-Avon).

National Highways had warned the incident had "damaged the road surface" and the road was to remain closed for much of today.

"Specialist contractors have attended and advised that a full carriageway resurface of the is required," a statement said this morning.

But an update this afternoon said the road had reopened.
