A Warwick restaurant has launched an exciting new menu, introducing a range of dishes inspired by South Indian cooking alongside creative flavours from around the world.

Fusion Clan, based at 15 Smith Street, has refreshed its menu with new starters, sharing platters, curries and seafood dishes, as well as a five-course dining experience priced at £32.95 per person.

The independent restaurant has built its reputation on combining the rich culinary traditions of southern India with ingredients and cooking techniques from other parts of the world.

Its latest menu aims to take diners on a journey through the diverse flavours of South India, while offering plenty of familiar favourites.

"We wanted this menu to show people that South Indian food is much broader than many people realise," the Fusion Clan team said.

"There are coastal dishes, traditional curries, toddy-shop-inspired food, biriyani and dishes built around ingredients such as coconut, pepper, tamarind and curry leaves.

"But Fusion Clan has always been about being creative too. We don't want to be restricted by borders when two flavours or techniques work beautifully together."

New dishes to discover

Among the new additions is an Antipasti Sharing Platter for two, featuring homemade Indian-spiced focaccia, marinated olives, tamarind-glazed chicken wings and roasted Mediterranean vegetables.

Another highlight is the Keralan Pink Peppercorn Duck Leg, slow-cooked with traditional Kerala spices and finished with crispy onions, curry leaves, coconut flakes and crushed peppercorns.

Seafood lovers can try the Backwaters Seafood Duo, which brings together scallops and king prawns with roasted onion, black pepper, curry leaves and coconut.

The new menu also introduces Fish Mooile, featuring sea bass in a creamy, mildly spiced coconut sauce, and Beef Mappas Curry, a Kerala-style dish served with Kerala Porotta and salad.

Other options include Pork Ribs Curry, inspired by Kerala's traditional toddy-shop cooking, and Coastal Coconut Pork, made with slow-cooked pork belly and shoulder.

"We still want someone to be able to come in and enjoy a great curry, but equally we want people to look through the menu and find something they weren't expecting," the team added.

"That's part of the fun of eating out."

A new take on biriyani

Fusion Clan has also placed a greater emphasis on biriyani, using Jeerakasala rice, a fragrant short-grain variety traditionally associated with Kerala's Malabar region.

Alongside its signature Lamb Shank Biriyani, diners can now enjoy Chicken Tikka Biriyani, combining marinated chicken tikka with the restaurant's distinctive style of rice.

The team hopes these dishes will introduce more customers to the regional differences within Indian cuisine.

"Indian food is often spoken about as one cuisine, when in reality it changes enormously from one region to another," they explained.

"We're particularly influenced by South India, but even within South India there are completely different traditions, ingredients and ways of cooking.

"We want people to be able to discover some of that here in Warwick."

Five-course dining for £32.95

One of the biggest additions is a new five-course menu, available for £32.95 per person.

Diners can begin with a choice of starters, including Venison Arancini, Gochujang Fried Chicken, Chilli Paneer or King Prawn Masala, followed by a refreshing citrus sorbet.

Main courses include Prawn Mango Curry, Lamb Rogan Josh, Cauliflower Steak and Travancore Chicken Curry.

For dessert, guests can choose from Lemon Parfait, Warm Triple Chocolate Brownie or Warm Pineapple Rava Kesari, before finishing with the chef's special petit fours.

The restaurant hopes the new option will encourage customers to explore more of its menu during a single visit.

"Sometimes the hardest part of our menu is deciding what to order," the team said.

"The five-course option gives people the opportunity to try several different things and experience a little more of what Fusion Clan is about, without turning dinner into a very formal occasion."

Something for everyone

Despite introducing more adventurous dishes, Fusion Clan has retained a selection of popular Indian restaurant favourites.

Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh remain on the menu, ensuring there is something for diners who prefer familiar flavours.

The restaurant says striking this balance is particularly important for families and groups with different tastes.

"Not everybody walks through the door wanting to experiment, and that's absolutely fine," the team said.

"You can have something you already know and love, or you can try something completely different. Hopefully, after a few visits, people do a bit of both."

With its latest menu, Fusion Clan hopes to encourage more people in Warwick to discover the variety of South Indian cuisine, whether that means trying a traditional Kerala curry, exploring a new style of biriyani or enjoying a creative fusion dish.

The new menu is available now at Fusion Clan, 15 Smith Street, Warwick, CV34 4JA.

The restaurant also offers private venue hire for events of up to 50 guests.
