The Baroque Trio Reimagined 

The Alchemist, The Devil and The Dream reimagines the spirit of the Baroque trio sonata for our times. At its heart lies a dialogue between past and present: the virtuosity and drama of Tartini's Devil's Trill Sonata, the elegance of Corelli's La Folia, and the vivid scene-painting of Biber's Sonata Representativa are set alongside original works by jazz pianist and composer David Gordon and violinist David Le Page, including Bebop Tango and The Alchemist and the Catflap.

Drawing on jazz, folk and Balkan influences as well as free improvisation, this performance, featuring violin, cello and piano, celebrates the shared creative energy that unites Baroque musicians and contemporary improvisers. The result is a concert of striking contrasts and unexpected connections – by turns expressive, playful and unpredictable – where centuries of musical tradition meet in a spirit of invention and discover.

Experience music as it is meant to be heard -up close and live. In a relaxed, intimate setting, the principal players of Orchestra of the Swan perform with spontaneity and passion.

Typically featuring between three and eight players from the orchestra, these sessions create a uniquely immersive musical experience. Each performance dissolves boundaries between genres and centuries, celebrating the power of live music to connect us.
