Elizabeth Spencer, author, educator, and Vice Chair of Evesham Abbey Trustees talks about the intriguing history of Evesham Abbey. Its rise and fall and the famous people associated with the Abbey throughout its history.

Eight years ago, the Site passed into the ownership of Evesham Abbey Trust. Following National Lottery and Historic England Grants the Trust completed a £1.2 million project to conserve the ruins, remove the site from the English Heritage "At risk Register" and restore a Heritage amenity to the people of Evesham and its Visitors.

Elizabeth worked alongside 40 Schools and spoke to 7,000 students about the Abbey, its history, archaeology and the Site today.

The fascinating story of this powerful Abbey has been largely forgotten in this modern world, but its heritage lives and breathes.
