Since opening for the first time in November 2023, Nur Nur Paradise has brought a slice of Thailand to Kenilworth.

Boasting a blend of Western dishes mixed with South East Asian spices, the Warwick Road eatery run by Lee Wongsalees and Chamtama Nimceam markets itself as a Thai Fusion Restaurant.

And with a name which roughly translates as 'delicious' in English, it certainly lives up to its billing.

On first walking into the former home of Thai Sorracha, it is clear how the weeks of renovations have done wonders to create an intimate and relaxing setting.

Even with the restaurant almost full, at no point did we find ourselves struggling to hear each other, or wanting from the service of our hosts.

To start the evening drinks were ordered, a Singha lager for myself and a fantastically flavourful mango mojito for my partner. This as well as a very moorish portion of spicy prawn crackers.

We then shared the Barbary Duck Tamarind and Salt and Pepper Chicken as our starters.

The duck was beautifully cooked, wonderfully pink and full of flavour from the tangy tamarind sauce.

Meanwhile the generous portion of chicken had a slight kick from the Thai spices and matched perfectly with the accompanying pot of Sriracha mayonnaise.

For our mains I chose the Holy Thai Basil Rib Eye. Cooked rare to order, the meat was perfectly tender, and was packed with heat from the three varieties of chilli. Served with Thai basil and fried rice, the generous portion of steak was a delight.

On the other side of the table the Roasted Barbary Duck Red Curry was ordered.

Another winner.

Again a very generous portion, the curry was packed with flavour from the curry paste and coconut milk sauce. And the added pineapple, tomatoes and of course the crispy duck made for a delightful combination.

Such were the size of the portions we elected not to order desert, no matter how tempted we were by the chocolate nemesis with mango sorbet!

If you are yet to try Nur Nur Paradise, I can highly recommend. And why not head down on a Tuesday to make the most of one of the eatery's new offers!
