A yellow weather warning of thunderstorms has been announced for Warwick this weekend.

The Met Office has put the warning in place from 9am to 6pm on Saturday 7 June.

"Heavy showers and thunderstorms may lead to some disruption to transport and infrastructure," the warning said.

Meteorologists said there is a "good chance" driving conditions will be impacted and there will "probably" be some damage to "a few buildings and structures" from lightning strikes.

"Delays to train services are possible," the warning added.

"Some short term loss of power and other services is likely."

The warning is in place for the south of England and much of the Midlands.
