Work underway on Warwick park's new paddling pool

Work is well underway on a "much-needed upgrade" for the paddling pool in St Nicholas Park.
Warwick District Council (WDC) started works on site at the start of February and are due to finish in "early summer".
The works will see non-slip surfaces, improved pool surrounds, jets and fountains with free-standing shades, and benches around the outside for parents installed.
A similar project is also underway for the paddling pool at Victoria Park in Royal Leamington Spa.

WDC released computer generated images of what the new pool in St Nicholas Park will look like last month.
The site is currently fenced off as work continues.
The council said contractors will "ensure that the impact to park users during the construction is minimum", though visitors should "expect some construction noise and traffic".

An update from WDC said: "We are pleased to inform you that the preparation for the refurbishment of both paddling pools has begun, and we are aiming to ensure that both pools will be back for 2025.
"Our appointed contractors are ready to begin the work of removing the existing paddling pool shell and installing the new paddling pool, water cleaning apparatus and new play features with the aim of being ready for opening this spring.
"Please be aware this will mean works being carried out in the centre of the park and whilst we are working with the contractors to limit the impact for park users it is likely to mean construction noise and traffic will happen and continue until the pools are ready for opening."
Further updates on the refurbishment project will be added to the council's website.
