Works are now underway converting a closed Warwick car showroom into shops.

Warwick District Council has originally refused Warwickshire Partnership's application for the works on Stratford Road, before the decision was overturned at a planning appeal.

Councillors had blocked the scheme due to a perceived lack of parking and the impact this would have on the neighbouring roads.

But after getting planning permission in November, the developer is now working on site to redevelop the site.

The former Kia showroom has been closed since 2023.

When the planning application was originally submitted, it said the plans would see the smaller of the two units would used for a business such as a hairdressers, funeral director or salon.

Meanwhile the larger of the two would become a 'top-up' food shop.

It has not been announced what businesses will open at the site.
