Pub giant JD Wetherspoon has announced it will be introducing a new vegan burger meal this January.

The chain - which runs the Thomas Lloyd in Warwick - is bringing customers the Beyond BBQ stack burger meal from 1 January until 31 January.

The burger will be available throughout 'Veganuary', the month-long event in January which encourages people to try vegan food.

The Beyond BBQ stack burger features a Beyond Meat® plant-based patty, BBQ sauce, onion rings, iceberg lettuce, tomato and red onion – in a vegan brioche.

The whole meal - served with chips - is a whopping 1,183 calories.

Wetherspoon's marketing executive, James Vaughan, said: "We are confident that the burger will prove popular with vegans and those trying a vegan burger for the first time."

There is also a range of vegan dishes on offer all year round, with vegan menus available (dishes may vary by pub) in all Wetherspoon pubs.

For Veganuary, the range of dishes will also be highlighted on the Wetherspoon app with a digital menu.
