Households and schools in south Warwickshire have had their water supply restored, Severn Trent has confirmed.

The water company said in an update this morning (January 16) that supply had been returned, but water pressure may be lower than expected.

Engineers remain at the scene of the burst pipe on Willies Road.

The update said: "We're pleased to inform you your water supply is back on earlier than we expected although it may be poorer pressure.

"Our teams remain in the area working to repair a burst water pipe on Willies Road/B4099.

"Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience."

Local schools were forced to close on Wednesday due to the lack of water, while many businesses also had to operate a reduced service.

Severn Trent said the problem had impacted households in the CV31 , CV32, CV33 and CV34 areas of Warwickshire.

Severn Trent has said up to 3,500 customers in the area were left without water - although local MP Matt Western has queried this figure.
