By Nadia Sayed 5th Apr 2026
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service members and vehicles gathered in Leamington this week.
It came as part of a planned planned training exercise in partnership with Warwick District Council.
The event took place at Christine Ledger Square in Leamington Thursday 2 April 2026, between 10am and 1pm.
The exercise was designed to test firefighters' response to a simulated fire in a high-rise building.

The Christine Ledger Square building was chosen as it is currently unoccupied.
Prior to the even, Warwick District Council's Portfolio Holder for Housing Cllr Jess Melrose commented: "We fully support this essential training exercise.

She added: "Ensuring our fire and rescue teams can safely and effectively respond to incidents in high-rise buildings is vital for the safety of residents. We want to thank the community for their cooperation while this important work takes place.

"This is a routine, controlled training activity, and any fire service presence in the area that morning should not be a cause for concern."
