A local coach firm has been nominated across four different categories at an awards celebrating outstanding operators and people in the industry.

Johnsons Coaches in Henley-in-Arden is among the 70 businesses to have made it through as finalists in the 2023 routeone Awards.

The awards scheme, now in its 17th year, recognises the highest standards of excellence across all aspects of coach and bus operations.

This year there are 15 categories including a new award for 'Coach Tourism Programme of the Year'.

Finalists were initially nominated by their industry peers earlier this year with a judging panel of seven senior industry experts coming together to create the shortlist.

Johnsons has been shortlisted in the Coach Tourism Programme of the Year, Outstanding Customer Service and Large Coach Operator of the Year (over 40 coaches) categories.

And general manager Kyran Flynn has reached the final few in the Rising Star award.

The winners will be announced on the evening of 8 November at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Taking to social media the company said: "To be shortlisted for these awards is a fantastic achievement for all of our hard-working and enthusiastic staff who live and breath our 'Travel with Johnsons - Travel with Friends' motto.

"We strive to be the very best, for you our loyal customers and our staff.

"We will be judged by a seven-strong judging panel of industry leaders! Winners will be announced on Wednesday 8 November - so keep your fingers crossed for us bringing home some fantastic awards!"

Johnsons dates back to 1909 and is still a family-run business.

The company offers specialist coach hire, holidays, day trips and more.
