Warwick's new Banking Hub is now officially open on High Street.

The site is located at the former Holland & Barrett unit in the centre of Warwick.

With Lloyds on Swan Street closing this month, and many of the other major banks already having left the town, the hub will act as a one-stop shop for all major banks.

Originally, it looked like the facility would be housed at Shire Hall, but a planning application was then submitted by Cash Access UK Limited to repurpose the empty shop on High Street.

The official opening will take place between 11am and 12 midday on 04 July with the Mayor of Warwick, Councillor Jackie D'Arcy attending to cut the ribbon.

A banking hub pilot has already been rolled out in Kenilworth Library, where Post Office staff manage the cash transactions while staff from various banks have availability for appointments and drop-ins on a rotating basis.

Customers of all major banks can visit any weekday between 9am-5pm to carry out regular cash transactions including cash withdrawals and deposits as well as checking balances or paying bills.

Additionally, the hub also offers a community banker service where customers can talk to their own bank in a private space about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub: 

Monday: Lloyds (from 21 July) 

Tuesday: Halifax (from 21 July)

Wednesday: NatWest

Thursday: HSBC (coming soon) 

Friday: Barclays

The hub was initially recommended by LINK, the UK's cash access and ATM network, following the announcement of the closure of the town's last remaining bank branch.
