Warwick's Wetherspoon been given permission to keep its outdoor seating area for the next two years.

The Thomas Lloyd in Market Place was granted a similar application last summer, and has again been given a pavement licence for its 27 outdoor tables.

New laws on pavement licences were brought into effect in the summer of 2020 to make it easier for businesses to apply for permission to put furniture outside during the pandemic.

According to the plans, the Market Place pub's 108 chairs and 27 tables will be available from 9am to 11pm seven days per week.

The Market Place pub is named after Victorian philanthropist Thomas Lloyd who lived in Warwick for 35 years until his death in 1890.

The building is a former bank, owned by Lloyd's family. Having changed hands between various banks over the following century, it was turned into a pub in 1998, becoming Lloyds No.1 bar.
