Warwick shop given green light for makeover

A Warwick Premier shop has been given the green light to upgrade its 'dated' shopfront by council planners.
Warwick District Council has granted planning permission for the works at Shakespeare Stores on Shakespeare Avenue.
Plans state the current shopfront will be replaced, with new shutters, windows and automatic doors installed.
The scheme will 'square off' the current bays.
"The replacement windows and the removal of the stall riser create an increased glazed frontage, which creates an attractive shopfront," a council report said.
"Officers consider this an improvement to the current shopfront which is dated and in need of repairs.
"The door to the left on the front elevation is being replaced with glazing and the openings reduced to just one, retaining the entrance to the right.
"Officers consider this reduction acceptable.
"The design of the glazing retains a legible split which reads well with the window bays above.
"The impact on the streetscene is acceptable."
