Warwick is now the seventh most expensive Warwickshire town to buy a house, according to new data released by HM Land Registry.

The data uses the average prices of houses sold in each area, across the 12 months leading up to the middle of September.

The last time Nub News looked at this data Warwick was ranked fifth.

According to the Land Registry data, the average sold property price in Warwick over the past year was £343,418.

The list was topped by Stratford-upon-Avon with an average price of £425,568.

The majority of sales in Warwick over the past year were detached homes, with an average price of £498,622.

Semi-detached houses fetched on average £333,775 and terraced £325,008.

Sold prices in Warwick were 11 per cent lower than the previous year.

The average property price across Warwickshire is £344,967.00.
