Warwick planning roundup: solar park, new bungalows and major estate
By James Smith 27th Jun 2026
Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Solar Owner
A major new solar project on the edge of Warwick has been bought by new developers.
Fuse Energy has acquired the Sherbourne Solar Project from Pelagic Energy Development, for an undisclosed sum.
The ready-to-build solar project has a capacity of c.25 MW and is located to the west of Warwick.
The scheme is expected to connect into the local distribution network, with a targeted connection date of April 2027.
Village Homes
Plans for two new bungalows opposite a pub in Lapworth have been revealed.
A planning application has been submitted for the new homes next to Kingswood Manor House and opposite the Navigation Inn.
A previous plan for a home on the land at Old Warwick Road was refused by Warwick District Council in 2021, but the fresh scheme says it has taken on feedback from five years ago.
No Stopping!
Warwick locals have until the middle of July to have their say on plans to enforce a no-stopping zone on a busy local road.
Warwickshire County Council is proposing the zone along Europa Way as 900 houses are being built.
A major application for the 900 new homes, a primary school, local centre, park and ride and open space, was called in by the secretary of state and signed off in 2016.
