Warwick solar project changes hands ahead of construction
By James Smith 24th Jun 2026
A major new solar project on the edge of Warwick has been bought by new developers.
Fuse Energy has acquired the Sherbourne Solar Project from Pelagic Energy Development, for an undisclosed sum.
The ready-to-build solar project has a capacity of c.25 MW and is located to the west of Warwick.
The scheme is expected to connect into the local distribution network, with a targeted connection date of April 2027.
Fuse Energy is expected to now progress the project through construction ahead of its targeted commissioning date.
Savills Earth Capital Advisors (SECA) advised the sale.
Blair Ferguson, Associate Director, SECA, said: "Pelagic Energy Development have delivered a well-structured ready-to-build project with a clear connection pathway and strong locational fundamentals in the West Midlands.
"It has been a pleasure to advise the Pelagic team on this disposal, and Sherbourne is a good example of the type of consented, near-term construction asset that continues to attract competitive interest from a broad range of UK buyers."
The solar farm the size of "50 Old Traffords" on green belt land near Sherbourne was granted planning permission in 2023.
Warwick District Council's planning committee passed the proposal for a solar farm that is set to power up to 7,500 homes on farm land north of the A46, Sherbourne Hill.
The permission lasts for 40 years.
