Restaurant's Boost

A Warwick restaurant has been given the green light for its extension plans.

Warwick District Council has approved planning permission for works at Smith Street Restaurant.

The town centre eatery has been given the go-ahead for a single-storey extension which it says will provide more storage space.

Controversial Units Resurface

Plans for a major new industrial site on the edge of Warwick are taking their next steps after being approved by councillors three years ago.

Warwick District Council's planning committee signed off on the outline plans for the land east of Stratford Roadin 2023, despite the objections of locals who said the development was too high.

The plans - first put forward by Midlands Land Portfolio Limited - are for storage, distribution and industrial use of 8.8 hectares of land.

M40 Development Update

A major planning application for an industrial estate next to the M40 has been approved on appeal.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council had rejected CEG Land Promotions Limited's application for junction 12 of the motorway saying the development would "cause substantial and demonstrable harm" to the local area.

But a planning inspector has now signed off on the plans after an appeal was lodged and discussed at a public enquiry in June.
