Warwick planning roundup: Pub's mural, police HQ and local plan

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Police Parking
The number of parking spaces at Warwickshire Police's Leek Wootton headquarters needs to double, a planning application has revealed.
The force has applied for planning permission to create another 362 spaces at the Warwick Road HQ which it says will help alleviate a number of issues on site.
"The overriding objective of the proposed development is to deliver adequate capacity of vehicle parking to meet Warwickshire Police's operational needs, to improve pedestrian safety and legibility for staff and visitors and improve site security given the nature of operations," the application explained.
Local Plan
Warwick locals are running out of time to have their say on plans for new housing sites around the town and across South Warwickshire.
The next step of the much-delayed South Warwickshire Local Plan (SWLP) gives residents the chance to comment on 36 potential new housing sites in the region.
The major planning document will govern where around 35,000 houses are built across the region over the next 25 years.
Pub's Mural Allowed
A landlord has won his battle to keep a bull mural on the side of his 400-year-old pub - as long as he makes the boozer look like a farm.
Martin Peel was stunned when he was ordered to remove the 8ft-high painting from the wall of The Bull's Head in the village of Wootton Wawen.
He had commissioned local artist Phil Taylor to create the artwork which cost £1,200 last April.
