Here are the biggest planning stories from the last week in and around Warwick.

Pub to House Resurfaces

Fresh plans to turn a Warwick pub - which has been closed for nearly four years - into a house have been put forward to the district council.

Secret Properties Ltd has resubmitted its previous application to repurpose The Punch Bowl, after attempts to let out the venue failed.

The owner says converting the grade II listed pub to a house remains the only viable option - despite its pervious application being refused permission by Warwick District Council.

Luxury Care Home

A new luxury care home with 66 fully-furnished ensuite rooms plus five deluxe care suites is set to open in Warwick this summer.

Expected to be completed in June 2024, Oakley Grange care home will offer first-class assisted living in "stylishly tranquil surroundings".

The new care home, which will be the latest facility operated by Cinnamon Care Collection, will also include a community dedicated to the care of people living with dementia.

Unhappiness at Houses

Consultants working on the new South Warwickshire Local Plan are being asked to go back to the drawing board amid "considerable unhappiness" over expected housing numbers.

The plan will set out proposed locations for new housing, workplaces and infrastructure across the districts of Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon in the years ahead.

There are several phases to go through and there have been delays, and this latest issue could cause more with both districts being earmarked for more housing that originally anticipated in previous calculations.
