Warwick planning roundup: 'alien' billboard, shop's future and new home
By James Smith 31st Jan 2026
Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
'Alien' Billboard
An appeal to force through plans for a huge digital billboard at Racing Club Warwick's ground has been thrown out by a planning inspector.
Alight Media submitted the appeal after Warwick District Council planners blocked permission for the LED screen measuring 6.4 metres by 3.4 metres.
Officers described the screen as "alien" to the Hampton Road site - a view which was held up by the planning inspector.
Shop's New Life
A former Warwick wine bar could be turned into a house if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.
A planning application has been submitted for the building on High Street for it to have a change of use from commercial to residential.
If approved, the scheme would see the property turned into a four-bed home.
New Home Plans
A new home could be built in the garden of a Warwick home, if plans are approved by Warwick District Council.
H & M Construction has applied for planning permission for the three-bedroom home on Shelley Avenue.
If approved, the scheme would also see two more parking spaces built on site.
