Warwick planning roundup: 150 new homes, Punch Bowl and new flats

Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Developer's Delight
A housing developer has been given unanimous approval for 150 new homes between Warwick and Leamington Spa, just months after taking over the site.
Miller Homes' application for the development off Harbury Lane was approved by Warwick District Council's planning committee this week, with one councillor describing the scheme as "acceptable" but "not exciting".
The estate - which already has outline permission - will form part of the much wider Oakley Grove development which will ultimately see 900 homes, a secondary school, primary school and country park built.
Punch Bowl
Campaigners have lost their battle to save a closed Warwick pub from being turned into a house, but concerns were raised about how hard the owners had tried to reopen it.
Warwick District Council's (WDC) planning committee last night granted permission for the Punch Bowl to be turned into a house, bringing an end a long-running planning battle.
Secret Properties Ltd has at last been given permission to repurpose the site at The Butts, having already seen a previous application refused.
New Flats
New Warwick offices which have remained unused since being built could soon be turned into more flats if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.
Faxton Ltd has submitted another application for the buildings at Emscote Old Wharf which could see four offices turned into four, two-bedroom flats.
The company had submitted a similar scheme for the canalside properties last year only to pull the plans after council planners raised concerns with the designs.
