Warwick Market has been cancelled this Saturday (July 15) as the Met Office has introduced a yellow weather warning for the area.

Meteorologists are warning of extreme winds, specifically saying there could be damage to temporary structures.

As a result, organisers CJ's Events Warwickshire said: "We have been closely monitoring the weather forecast over the past 48 hours. Unfortunately, the weather conditions have worsened, leading to the cancellation of several markets and events by other operators and councils in our region.

"Considering the heightened wind gust speed of up to 42mph throughout tomorrow, it is only fair to prioritise the safety of everyone involved and cancel our markets as well.

"The forecast also indicates thunder and lightning throughout the day.

"The safety of our team, traders and visitors is of utmost importance, and we appreciate everyones understanding. Warwick District Council are aware of this decision."
