A Warwick betting shop has applied for permission to renovate the front of its building, which shows signs of "decay".
Betfred has asked Warwick District Council for permission to re-render the front of its premises and the stories above in Market Place.
As the building, which dates back to the 18th century, is grade II listed, the betting firm has had to apply for listed building consent before starting on the works.
Photographs show some damage to the rendering, particularly around the second floor windows.
"The repairs have been 'significance-led' and in our opinion, the significance of the building lays primarily in the façade creating an architecturally imposing frontage," the application states.
"The proposed work is primarily focussed on retaining or reinstating sympathetic and correct materials to protect the fabric of the building within the best conservation practice."
Plans show the building would still have a rendered finish after the works.
The application added: "We have considered the impact of keeping some of the inappropriate materials which are present on the elevation with reference to the risk of further dampness and the extension of decay into areas of the wall and finishes where it is not already."
