A growing beauty business in Warwick is preparing to open the doors to a new space designed not only for treatments, but also for bringing women together through events and workshops.

Founded by Catrina, Mayfield has been based on Smith Street for the past two and a half years.

What began as a one-person business has grown into a team of seven, offering nails, brows, lashes and makeup services, alongside accredited nail training courses.

Now, the business is relocating just up the road into a larger premises that will allow the team to expand the vision for Mayfield.

"We've completely rebranded and we're creating a space that's much more functional. Half of the new space will still be beauty-focused, but the other half will be centred around community events and experiences for women" explained Catrina.

Alongside the salon expansion, the new community events space will operate under the name More at Mayfield,

Catrina noted it has been 'all hands on deck' bringing the new location to life, with support from the Mayfield team, her parents, her partner, Diamond Carpentry and Renovations and ProTech Electrical, who have all been working hard behind the scenes ahead of the launch.

The idea for the expansion was inspired by a Christmas event hosted by the salon last year. The 'Merry Mayfield Christmas' gathering invited clients and members of the salon's community together for festive drinks and socialising, and the response exceeded expectations.

"We completely sold out and ended up adding more spaces," said Catrina.

She added: "More than 60 women joined us over the weekend, and it really showed us how much people wanted spaces to connect."

The new venue will host a variety of events including makeup masterclasses, creative workshops and social evenings, with future plans for yoga, Pilates, paint nights and seasonal events.

"We want it to be somewhere women can come with friends, meet new people and try something different.

"It's about celebrating women, bringing people together and creating something that feels welcoming and fun" expressed Catrina.

Mayfield's official launch event will take place on 31 May and will give visitors the opportunity to tour the new space, meet the team and enjoy an afternoon of music and celebrations.

For Catrina, the journey to building Mayfield has been deeply personal. Originally relocating from Leicestershire to Warwickshire, she made the difficult decision to close a previous salon and start over from scratch in Warwick.

"It was a huge leap," she said. "But it was the best decision I ever made. Warwick feels like home now, and this feels like our forever home too."

Despite the move, many loyal clients still travel long distances to visit the salon, with some making journeys of more than an hour and a half for appointments.

Catrina believes the business's success has come down to the atmosphere created by both the team and the community around it.

"The feedback we always get is that people just love coming here and chatting with everybody. The team are all so friendly and approachable, and they work incredibly hard. I'm very grateful for them because they really are amazing" highlighted Catrina.

The salon's name also carries special meaning. While many assume "Mayfield" is just Catrina's surname, it is actually a tribute to her grandmother, whose middle name was Mayfield.

Catrina went onto note: "I always wanted the business name to feel personal. But I also wanted something that could grow beyond beauty if the brand ever expanded, and I'm so glad I chose it."

Those interested in booking appointments or learning more about the salon can find Mayfield through Google or via Instagram.
