Matt Western hosted his third annual MP Awards last month, highlighting the individuals, organisations, businesses and teams in the voluntary and public sector who contribute so much to their communities.

Winners across the three categories were Amanda Burford, Dawid Kozlowski and Helen Aris for the individuals award, the Polish Centre for the community groups award and Make Good Grow and Rethink Mental Illness, Grapevine and Experts by Experience for the business and teams award. A special recognition award was awarded to Warwick District Foodbank and their team.

Matt Western purchased eight trophies for the winners and had them engraved to congratulate the individuals, groups and teams who won. He's now travelling across the constituency to congratulate award winners and present them their award.

Last week, he presented Helen Aris, Dawid Kozlowski and the Polish Centre with their trophies. Helen Aris received her award at a vigil she had organised to mark the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which was attended by large numbers of the Ukrainian community who she has supported in finding refugee in Warwick and Leamington.

Dawid Kozlowski and the Polish Centre were integral in providing support from Warwick and Leamington to Ukraine, organising for aid and ambulances to be sent over to Poland and Ukraine to support refugees as they fled their homes.

Mr Western said: "It was fantastic to have the chance to recognise the incredible people, organisations, teams and businesses in our community at my awards last month. So often the work of those in the voluntary and public sector goes unrecognised so I was pleased to highlight their brilliant efforts.

"It's great every year to be able to hand out the awards to the winners and this year is no different. To be able to give Helen, Dawid and the Polish Centre their trophies amidst those they have helped, and their communities was inspiring. I look forward to congratulating the other winners with their trophies over the next few weeks.

"I'd also like to say a special thanks to Spa Trophies in Leamington for supplying the awards."
