Victorian mansion house hotel near Warwick closes once again
A troubled Victorian mansion house hotel near Warwick has closed yet again with the estate repossessed by its owners.
BBC Coventry and Warwickshire confirmed the closure of Wroxall Abbey today (January 23) just two years after the site had reopened under new owners.
The Birmingham Road estate had reopened in 2021 under the Trinity Hotel Group - after being shut for two years - before closing its doors in August 2022 when the company went into administration.
It was then taken over that September by family-run business ONS International, the director of which - Paresh Thakkar - had been involved in running the hotel with Trinity.
But after two years under the latest ownership (now using the name JGBM Hotel Limited), the hotel has closed once again.
The BBC reported estate owner Wroxall Manor Limited has terminated the leaseholder's tenancy and taken back the property.
The social media pages for the estate have been closed and the website replaced with a holding page.
And workmen have been spotted at the gates of the site installing a bollard.
When Trinity reopened the hotel in June 2020 it invested heavily in refurbishing the 48 bedrooms, bar and restaurant.
The 14th century church was also subsequently recommissioned.
Mr Thakkar has been approached for comment by Nub News.
