The flood warning for Gog Brook in Warwick has been lifted, but a flood alert remains in place for the wider area.

The warning - posted on the Gov.uk website - was issued in the early hours of Monday morning (December 4), with locals warned there was a threat to properties.

It was extended into Tuesday, before being lifted later in the day.

Now a flood alert for Middle Avon Rugby to Bidford is in place.

"River levels are high but steady at the Rugby river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall," the alert says.

"Consequently, the risk of flooding remains.

"Flooding is affecting low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon between Rugby and Bidford including Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, caravan parks and farmland.

"Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours but river levels appear to have peaked and will remain steady, with no further rise forecasted.

"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.

"Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
