Two people have been arrested and their van seized after officers caught them stealing fuel from a parked tanker.

Officers from Warwickshire's Operational Patrol Unit spotted the offenders stealing from the parked HGV near the Longbridge island last night (January 14).

"One offender was detained and arrested promptly and the other ran off," a force spokesperson said.

"The second offender was found and arrested following an extensive area search with the assistance of police dog KOKO."

They two people are now in custody.
