Residents will be able to see steam power in action on the mainline next weekend as 'The William Shakespeare' travels through Warwickshire.
Making its way from York to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the express will pass near Kenilworth in both directions - through Hatton on its way south, and through Henley-in-Arden as it returns back up north.
The train will depart from York at 6.30am on Saturday March 19 and make its way past Kenilworth for the first time at around 1.30pm before reaching Stratford at 1.51pm.
On the return trip it will pass through Henley at 5.06pm according to Real Time Trains.
Promoted by Saphos Trains, fares on the special start at £155.
The all-day excursion will actually be hauled by a diesel engine from York to Crewe before a steam engine takes over to take the train down the west coast mainline to Warwickshire.
Whilst the actual locomotive is yet to be announced, operator Locomotive Services TOC Ltd has confirmed it will be one of:
- West Country Class No. 34046 'Braunton'
- Royal Scot Class No. 46100 'Royal Scot'
- Britannia Class No. 70000 'Britannia'
