Swift action after signs installed over community mural in Warwick park
By James Smith 21st Jan 2026
Swift action has seen new signs moved from a mural where they were incorrectly installed.
Network Rail installed the signs at the bridge in Priory Park over a mural which was created last year.
Intervention from Priory Pools Community Centre - which led the mural project - ensured the strike plates were relocated to under the bridge.
Entitled 'A Day in Priory Park, Linking Past, Present and Future', the murals celebrate the history of Priory Park and the 200th anniversary of the railway in 2025, as well as looking forward to the future Priory Pools Community Centre.
A post on social media from the centre said; "We're pleased to confirm that the signs have now been moved to inside the tunnel, which was too damp to include as part of the murals.
"Thank you to everyone who brought this to our attention - it really shows the strength of community care for this project.
"We're also grateful for the support and cooperation from Network Rail in resolving the issue.
"The murals are absolutely fine, and if you haven't seen them yet, we'd really encourage you to come and take a look."
