By Nadia Sayed 8th Apr 2026
Families will get the chance to take a step back in time with a day of fun, history, and adventure at Warwick's St George's Day celebrations on Saturday 25 April.
An array of activities will take place, from St George's Day crafts and a specially-designed trail around the town, along with a special appearance from a knight on horseback.
The main focus of the celebrations will take place on Smith Street from 10am to 4pm, where an exciting programme of live performances and activities will take place, including displays from the Knights of Middle England as well as live sword fighting demonstrations.
Visitors can also enjoy a lighthearted, family-friendly performance of the legend of St George by the Slaughterhouse Players, alongside traditional entertainment such as Punch and Judy shows and lively Morris dancing.

Kelly Scott, Town Centre Manager, encouraged everyone to come together to celebrate in true Warwick style, saying: "This is a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy a fun day out and celebrate St George's Day in a town steeped in history. We've got plenty planned across the whole of the town centre, with some brilliant activities and events to entertain all.
"From knights on horseback to performances, displays and more, Warwick really will be the place to experience St George's Day and for families to get involved in some great activities, so put the date in your diary and come and join us for some affordable, family-friendly fun."
Smith Street will be transformed into a bustling hub of activity, with a street market showcasing local traders and many of the street's businesses stepping outside to join the celebrations. The Guy of Warwick Society will also be present, sharing the story of Warwick's legendary hero.
Across the town, a coordinated programme of activities will ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy. Families can take part in St George's Day crafts at the Visitor Information Centre, as well as a specially-designed interactive dragon trail where children can search for puzzle pieces hidden in shop windows around town. Trail maps will be available from the Visitor Information Centre, providing the perfect way to explore Warwick.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, local businesses are taking part in a St George's Day-themed window display competition, with the public invited to vote for their favourite displays via Warwick Town Council's Facebook page.
