Steam express returns to South Warwickshire this weekend

Locals will once again be able to see steam power in action this weekend as the Shakespeare Express returns to South Warwickshire.
Returning for the first time in 2025, the excursion will head from Worcester to Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday (April 6) in the first of a series of weekend specials this spring and summer.
As with previous years, the express will make multiple trips through the county, heading through Warwickshire in the morning via Hatton to reach Stratford for the first time at 12.35pm.
After pausing for photos, the express will travel to Birmingham via Henley-in-Arden and then back again before picking up its passengers for the return leg to Worcester, leaving Stratford at 4.45pm.
Organisers Vintage Trains said: "Immerse yourself in the romance, charm and excitement of a bygone era as you relax in the comfort of your seat on-board one of our vintage carriages, hauled by one of our immaculately restored and historic steam locomotives.
"Whether you are drawn to historic cities, beautiful seaside towns, scenic countryside vistas or the nostalgia of the steam train, we offer something to enthral all travellers from our beloved classics, such as The Shakespeare Express, to exciting new adventures and destinations."
After this weekend, the express will return at the end of April.
The express will be hauled by one of Clun Castle, Earl of Mount Edgcumbe or Bahamas.
